About the Opportunity

A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to join its Finance team in Vancouver, WA. This position is responsible for overseeing accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, supporting process improvements, and providing leadership to the AP team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and support Accounts Payable Specialists.
  • Oversee daily accounts payable functions, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Receiving teams to obtain necessary documentation and approvals for invoice processing.
  • Monitor vendor accounts and ensure payment terms are met to maximize available discounts.
  • Drive process improvements and support AP automation initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
  • Support month-end closing activities and audit requests as needed.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume invoice processing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of AP automation systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

  • Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience within Accounts Payable.
  • Experience in manufacturing, food production, distribution, or similar industries.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing AP automation processes.
